Pico de Loro

I’m not new to this weather condition in climbing mountains but I was worried with the assessment of my new trekking shoes as muddy and slippery trail is ahead of us.

Together with the climb participants, we left El Pueblo, Ortigas at 0410H for Ternate,

I was able to climb this mountain about 5 years ago and I was glad to see that almost nothing has changed on my 3 hour trek to the camp site for lunch. 30 minutes after we took our packed lunch we ascended towards the summit. A feast of 360º view of South China Sea, province of Bataan can be seen and of course the famous parrot’s peak or the Pico de Loro.

At 1300H, we descended back to the DENR. And just minutes after we reached the asphalted road of Ternate,
Magnetic Hill Road
We just made it on time back to the jump off point - a perfect day to climb!
